Just have lunch at any of the University restaurants and coffee shops, they're open to all, read a book, the girls will talk to you. You might also like to get membership of the swimming pool on CMU campus, lots of girls in the early evening.

Living in the accommodation blocks around the universities (mainly aimed at students) will also help you meet plenty of girls.

Its a bit creepy , older guys hanging round educational establishments for the sole purpose of meeting girls , and going swimming just to see girls !!!!!!

  I suppose that would be a bit pervy anyway , but just about acceptable for someone under 25 years old

They also have a Uni playing field , you can watch the girls exercising at 2.30 PM everyday

They take a shower after as well , you cannot watch, but you can hear the water coming from the shower and just use your imagination

Lol I am going to be new to the area so I was not necessarily trying to just pick up chicks, but meet up and get to know the area. I am just going to be travelling through in a week.

OP is a young guy, same age as the university girls. Although I do know a retired American lawyer who met and married a student after meeting her like that.

Suggestion: make sure you are not holding the book upside down, and that the book is in a slipcase cover decorated with a small furry animal rendered in pastel tones, or something like a "Hello Kitty."
