BANGKOK, 18th October 2018 (NNT) – The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Brussels, Belgium and present a cooperation expansion plan based on the three pillars of politics, economics, and society and culture as well as to discuss bilateral relations with at least five other national leaders.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha has left for Brussels to be a part of the 12th ASEM. The meeting is taking place on the topic of global partners and global challenges and will seek to enhance partnerships against international issues. The PM intends to recommend relations between Asian and European countries be enhanced according to ASEM’s three pillars of politics, economics and society and culture.

Gen Prayut also intends to take the opportunity to assure participants of Thailand’s readiness to chair ASEAN in 2019 and to connect countries so that they may better handle regional and global problems such as terrorism, migration and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. He will indicate that Thailand’s agenda is to foster sustainable development and happiness.

I wonder if he's worried about a counter-coup while he's away, since he's seen all the 'adoring' comments on his FB page?

I bet he doesn't like Alvin Stardust either:

Democracy is at the foundation of our Western European cultures, why do we allow an unelected head of junta to come and make a show? Europe should remain a reluctant partner of Thailand until this country truly embraces values that we can share.

Followed by some stretching, jumping jacks and running in place for five minutes.  He may even pass out hoola hoops.  Or maybe he will try some real beer and chocolates and reduce import tariffs and consumption tax.

Prayut is working hard to learn some phrases for his trip to Belgium:

OK
Yes
Uh huh
Very good
Thank you
I come from Thailand
How are you
Goodbye

One of those "pillars" better not be Thailand's education system. He'll get a bigger laugh than Trump as his last UN speech.
