Cache & Cookies....

Featured Replies

I am using Ubuntu 5.1. I thought I would try TV 'Live Chat' and all I got was some pretty windows but no instructions. I eMailed Support as one should and they came back with "Try clearing your cache and cookies and see if it works then".

Do we have 'cache and cookies' in Linux (Firefox) and if so how do I delete them?

Colin

Are you using Firefox 1.5 or 2.0? I don't have 1.5 any more but for 2.0 the button is located here:

Cache:

Edit->Preferences->Advanced tab->Network tab->Clear Now

Cookies:

Edit->Preferences->Privacy tab->Show Cookies->Remove All Cookies (or you can select thaivisa cookies)

Might be similar in 1.5

The problem you have may be your flash installation - can you see youtube/google videos OK?

I am using Firefox 1.0.7. I tried to install Firefox 2.0 but in typical Linux fashion I waited 15 minutes for the download to finish and then it all vanished into thin air. I am not all that keen to 'Chat' to anyone 'Live' so I will stick with what I have...

Thank you for all your assistance...

I'm a little curious about this too. When I run C(rap)Cleaner on windoze, I find heaps of stuff to delete. Does it accumulate on Linux like it does on Windoze?

I've read that fragmentation is not an issue with Linux. Is it the same with temp files and cookies?
