My elderly mother will be coming to Vietnam with my wife and daughter this year for the first time.We will be stopping of in BKK for a few days on the way there(as we always do,love the place!!)however my mother will be returning on her own and thus has to negotiate the airport on her own,she is very concerned about this and thus i was wondering if anyone is aware of any kind of meet and greet service where someone will help her arrive safely to her departure lounge!!I would of course be happy to pay if such a service was available.

You don't mention the airline your mother will be on for the arrival at Bangkok, or the one she'll continue on to home, but I suggest you contact both via email, and perhaps eyeball-to-eyeball when you're here in Bangkok.

Many airlines will assist their "elderly" or "uncertain" passengers in a transit situation.  One or both of the airlines may be quite happy to have a ground staffer meed the incoming flight from Vietnam with a sign and and your mother's name, and take here off to the ongoing connecting flight home.  Who knows, if the connecting flight has a VIP lounge, they might even comp her to it during the wait for departure.

Thai Airways can do it. Other airlines might be a bit short of BKK based ground staff.

Meet and greet services usually assist people traveling between airport and hotel. Many companies can assist in that respect but they generally just drop passengers on the departure level of airport unless arrangements have been made to assist her to the check in counter. Assisting her to the departure lounge from the check in counter will need to be arranged with the airline.

Don't you think it would be nice to escort your Mother yourself rather than entrust her to strangers as clearly she appears to have some anxiety about this aspect ?

I would call the airline and ask them. They may know of who would handle this at BKK as I assume they have to deal with unaccompanied minors in a similar fashion. They do have a meet & greet service at Doha for privilage club members.

Another idea is to see if she can get a similar service using one of the day rooms if its a longer stopover.
