May I do a final  re-entry on the last day of Non O married visa issued abroad the  day before expiry giving me total One Year plus 89 days

Question 1

How to get  60 more days to visit family as this will be ideal before returning to home country where I plan to move onto the  retirement visa.

When these 60 days up am I allowed 2 land frontier  bounces via land adding around 89 days to last entry, I can go with wife to local immigration any day, time cost not important just want to have all docs pix etc before going, they made a friend do 10 trips as the new lady in charge  seems to particularly dislike Americans  for a very personal reason , my friendly immigration officer spoke to wife and he advise her  not to deal with her until transferred,I have never overstayed or had legal problems alas she was jilted by a close friend so its personal, so I get my visas outside Thailand.

Q2 Where and when to do this on last day, can it  be done in any Immigration Office , Hat Yai or C Mai is ideal as I often pass through but do not live there or must it only be nearest Office to wifes address.

Q3 Can I leave and re enter during the 60 day if I buy a re entry to keep it live at 1900 bahts still?

As I understand it I can I still stay  almost 17 and half  months? Year +89 +60 (Family visit) +14 +14 days of value as my passports ae filling up esp by Lao and KSA stamps taking whole pages and getting through passports faster than mothers-in-law !

Thanks for any advice

You can get a new 90 day entry if you leave and re-enter on or before the day your visa expires.

1. You can apply for a 60 day extension of the last 90 day entry from your visa to visit your wife. You have to apply for it at the designated immigration for where you are living. You wife will need to be with you when you apply. You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card. You will need no photos other than 4 X 6 cm photo on the TM7 application form. The fee is 1900 baht.

You could do 2 border crossing for a 30 day visa exempt entry (there is no 15 day entry rule now) that can be extended for 30 days (or 60 days to visit your wife).

2. You have to apply at your local office. You can apply for the 60 day extension during the last couple of weeks of the 90 day entry. No need to wait for the last day since the extension starts from the end of the 90 days.

3. You can get a single re-entry permit to keep the remainder of the 60 day extension valid for a fee of 1000 baht.

It could be more than that if you extended each visa exempt entry for the standard 30 days or 60 days to visit your wife.

Thanks so what is the absolute maximum under optimal conditions always exiting last day of validity

About 690 days if you get a 60 day extension of each 30 day visa exempt entry.

Turn those visa-exempt border runs into overnight stays in Vientiane or Penang for a Tourist Visa, and you an add another 60-days to your total.  A visa for 60-days is 1000 Baht, while an extension is 1900 Baht, so the savings can pay for an overnight stay, and give more time before the next hassle.   A new 1-year Non-O-ME (5000 Baht) saves more of that trouble, if you need significantly more time.
