I'm getting ready to apply for a multi entry non O based on marriage from the Thai embassy in London ,ive checked on their website and every thing seems to be as it was last year apart from them wanting some financial proof of income .My concern is that Hull will not issue multi entry visas but instead they will send your passport down to London and return it to Hull with a single entry Visa. This seems strange or has London also stopped multi entry visa but have not updated their web site.

You can only get a ME visa from London. Proof of funds, is not required, regardless of what is written on the website. You just need a copy of your marriage certificate and your wife’s ID/passport.

Is that true about proof of funds is not required? Is that just for the non-o visa but if you apply to extend it for the year then they want proof?

Financial proof is not needed to get the visa.

It is required to apply for an extension of stay at immigration.

Thank you, that's what I thought.

Did you marry your wife in Thailand or the UK? If the UK, then one thing that you will need to bear in mind for the longer term when you eventually start applying for marriage extensions of stay is that you will need to have had your marriage certificate formally legalised. This involves a convoluted process as described in the links below, and I would strongly advise you to get this handled before you departed UK shores if at all possible:-

I'll be interested in your dealings with London.

Originally a few years ago when they could do them (by post), and asking about the o marriage Visa with the Glasgow Consulate, they always said no proof of income required.

Last March I included a bank statement showing I had a balance of (fortunately) of 12 x 1400 GBP, to my application to London (by post), as per website.

As I will request a new Visa early next year, to maintain the ME aspect, over the school holidays (Current ME Visa could enter in March and stay continuously for up to a year).

Speaking to London Embassy Visa section in September past, they were still looking for income of 1400 GBP . I think their website say 1400 annual, but a likely 1400/month, (3 months sample statements), over the year is what they appear to looking for. Then they said, "new rule" you have to "leave Thailand every <90 Days". This does not impact on me at the moment luckily.

I would be most interested in how you get on, in prep for my new Visa application at the start of next year..(I'll maybe have a word with Glasgow again, as they were for a while still doing in person applications, I think, but had to refer them to London for approval)

Thanks

This is correct as I did it 2 months ago, but don't forget to go to the immigration within 24 hours or you get fined. 800tb for me .

Thanks for that, the girl on the phone must of got the wrong end of the stick! hope the 90 day, leave the country thing, is not correct as well, I'm unlikely to stay more than 90 days at a time, but being able to stay more than 90 days (current one up to a year) would be reassurance in an emergency change of plan...

Thanks

Curious, How did the 800THB fine come about?

You have go across the border every 90 days. The 800tb  was because I didn't go within 24 hrs of arrival in Thailand with the house master.

If you ask the embassy staff they will tell you that proof of income is required. If you have it, send it, but many people — including myself — have applied by post without including any bank statements and received the visa.

You do have to leave within 90 days, UNLESS you apply for a 60 day or 1 year extension of stay. There are no new rules.

You can only get Multiple Entry visas from London. Glasgow wll only be able issue you a Single Entry. Applying by post direct to London is the best option.

I second the no need for funds requirement. I did mine via post to the Thai embassy in London. Mailed it on a Friday, passport in my hand by the following Tuesday. Wife's id, marriage certificate endorsed by both of us and I threw in the house registration papers, just in case.
