A woman whose body was found in a remote hillside stream 14 years ago, may have been a "Thai bride".

Detectives investigating the unidentified woman's death believe she may have been brought to the UK.

The remains of the woman, who is believed to have been from south-east Asia, were discovered by a group of walkers on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire.

She was found between Pen-y-Ghent and Horton, Ribblesdale, on September 20, 2004.

The post-mortem concluded she had died 1-3 weeks before her body was discovered, but they couldn't give any age indication, only that she was 20-40 yrs and weighed about 10 stone.. That's a huge disparity.. At least she had a proper UK funeral.. I hope they do catch the baXXard responsible.. RIP..

Surely more likely a trafficked woman who was a prostitute / or was forced into prostitution. She died either accidentaly or gang killed her and dumped her body as no or incorrect paperwork. Surely a man missing a Thai wife would be easy to track down?

Everybody should have their DNA taken at nirth & registered on their birth certificate & a national database for these situations & crime incl rape etc.. Its the modern fingerprint. While some will say its big brother & orwellian the movement of people mowadays makes it necessary.
