Just act as if it won't be, praise how useful it will be and demonstrate your permission to stay here, Thai address etc. you need to have at least £500 with you as the minimum balance is $500 equiv. + about Bt 1000 up-front fees.  Took my 10 year old with me as Translator, just in case.. got the card in about a week. Not used it much, as that is 2019 budget.

 

(One thing I should note, is that I did use that branch, to change notes a few times, over a number of months, before opening, and I think they recognised the son & I)

 

It's the Thai Baht account they are more anti with, MUST have a work permit! (which I doubt I'll ever have).
