Pheu Thai won’t join political discussions if invited by NCPO

The Pheu Thai Party will opt out of discussions on lifting of political restrictions between political parties and the Election Commission if the invitation comes from the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

The party’s secretary-general, Mr Phumtham Vecchayachai, said over the weekend that there is no need for another meeting to discuss further easing of political restrictions because it’s up to the government to decide on its timing.

Besides, he said the discussions could be used as a pretext for the government to take advantage over the other pro-democracy parties in favour of the pro-junta parties.

Let see, the election is February 24th 2019, so the lifting of political restrictions should happen at least by February 18th 2019.  That should give all parties ample time to organize and provide for a fair, balanced, and orderly democratic election with no disruptions by pro-democracy hooligans and cheeky rap artists.

Exactly, stop talking and do something.

Quite right. For Thais in general, talking about doing something is the preferred alternative to actually doing anything.

Prayuth just has a natural gift for blathering.
