notifying change of address

Knowing that the topic has been on before, but as things are changing fast, my question:

We have built a house and moved in recently. I´m on a 1 year retirement visa (90 days report). Is there a time frame for reporting the new address ? Is there any proof of how long I´ve stayed from the former landlord required ? I live on Koh Phangan (Samui next immigration). Do I have to notify to local Police, before Immigration ? Maybe I´m a bit paranoid about it, but reading articles on TV like "....62 in jail for not reporting address" or so, doesn´t give me peace of mind either

You need to report you change of address to immigration. They will not be aware you have moved until you notify them.

The rule is within 24 hours which is almost impossible for them to enforce.

You’re supposed to report a change of address within 24 hours. Just date the TM.28 as the day you make report.

 

Some offices will allow change of address forms by mail, but I seem to recall Samui is one that doesn’t. You could call and ask.
