Cancelling ED Visa

Featured Replies

I will be applying for a NON-B to then get a work permit soon. I am currently on an ED-Visa with extensions from a Thai college.

I know I need to cancel the ED, and then fly to Laos to do the Non-B.

Question is, how long do I get after going to Chaengwattana to cancel the ED visa (with a letter from the college) before I have to leave the country? Do they give you a day or two, or do you have to leave the same day?

Also, I will still be studying but part-time, does the college tell immigration I am cancelling the visa as I will be studying on a part-time basis?

If you go to immigration on the date that the letter states you have leave the country on that day or apply for an extension, pay the 1900 baht fee and be granted 7 days to leave the country after it is denied. Or you can go to immigration a few days before the date on the letter and immigration will post date the cancelation to that day.

It will more than likely state you are longer attending classes on a full time basis. But it would not really matter since you can attend school with any type of visa or entry.
