A Facebook user under the name of Niroch Potong posted pictures of a worker who fell during construction of an extension at a two story house in the Klong Phasi Charoen area of Bangkok on Thursday evening.

The worker was impaled in the right side of his head.

The poster said that Ruam Katanyu foundation managed to cut him free and take him to hospital.

His condition was not known.

Sad.  In the real world, construction workers who are working at a height of more than 4 feet must be provided a safety harness and belt.  Not that anyone in Thailand would wear such a thing.  I recall warehouse workers who refused to wear steel-tipped shoes that were provided to them, instead opting for flip flops and barefeet, despite forklifts being driven all around them.  Thailand - Safety First!

Lucky its empty!

At least he was impaled in an area with no vital organs.

If the construction company was even a little bit safety conscious, they would have somehow covered that fence and eliminated the danger.  Those spikes are danger staring you in the face!  Of course, as previously mentioned, the worker should have been tied off with a safety harness to prevent the fall in the first place.

I'm guessing those flipflops cushioned his fall.

Harsh!

I'd like to see how the doctors are going to remove this.

Ouch! Hope he has a speedy and successful recovery. ????

Maybe he was working as an undercover officer at a stake out!

If he had half a mind; he would have at least wore a hard hat.

Half a mind is probably all he's got left now!

But then you must remember what country you are in... safety last profit first !!
