I've been using the monthly income method for quite a few years and loved it. But it seemed too easy, and I guess it was.

I got my notarized income statement at the US Embassy Khon Kaen outreach a couple of weeks ago and assumed it would suffice

for my next extension in Feb but now I'm hearing that might not be true starting in Jan.

I'm going to have to go the B800k route but I don't have three months before renewal, I have two months.

My question is: Does that initial two months in the bank apply to the initial extension only or can it apply to the first

time that method is used regardless of how many extensions I have?

Thanks a million for any input.

your income affadavit is good for 6 months forward based on the date it is being dated by your embassy so you are cool one more year, relax and go to the immigration and extend in february as planned...

Your income affidavit, as far as we are aware, should be accepted in February. There has been no formal announcement to suggest otherwise. You would need to ask your local office if you want confirmation.

If switching to 800K in the bank it will need to be in your account for 3 months. 60 days only applies to the first extension.

You should be OK using your income letter but I wouldn't have the same confidence about that if your office was Jomtien.

To add, bring supporting evidence of the income you claimed in the letter in case they ask.

If you don't have that evidence, best of luck.
