Gary Glitter may be a lot of things, but gay, he isn't.  Anyway, I don't know why anyone who has been in Thailand for a while would be surprised at the outcome of this story. 10 years ago I worked at a large school, where one of the Thai teachers regularly slept with girl students, brazen in his behaviour, he even cuddled them in class, 14/15/16 his preferred age range. Everyone knew, no one did anything, he was even popular in the staff room.  He is still there to this day.

The police should come out with the outcome of their investigation .this is for public security. Whether the person is guilty or not is important to the teaching community so they can act accordingly.

Maybe one day, somebody’s dad will serve him justice.... I would if she is my daughter....

This is so irritating to me.
The OP through three pages so far is titled "Bangkok Teacher Accused Of Sex With Boys Back In School".
1) How do you get "she" and "daughter" out of that?
2) How is the teacher not behind bars? I seem to recall a number of stories about farangs being locked away in Thai prisons and/or being extradited for kiddy fiddling.  It is OK for Thais to do this, if they are not raping their own kids?
Seriously, not doing "Thai bashing", but wondering if I am not "getting" something here.
Maybe the comparison to the US Catholic church is accurate.

Gary's not gay.thank god for that then.dont give a toss about sexuality.it is quite common for western teachers to move in to 3rd world countries and take advantage of the poor and lax laws.now tell me its bs.

Even before kiddy fiddlers are jailed, the welfare of the children comes first. In that regard, and given the history of education authorities in being criminally lax about protecting Thai children, the world education community should launch its own action. Whenever a world education forum is announced, the rest of the education community should refuse to attend unless Thai officials and representatives are banned. Likewise, every country should refuse to host any visiting team of Thai scholars (but perhaps not Thai student sports/educational groups).

 

Not sure whether such an idea is feasible or even practical, but  if it gained any momentum as a topic of discussion on the world stage it would be a serious slap in the face for Thai education authorities who care nothing about Thai kids. Thais might be able to control loss of face internally, but they can't do so on the world stage.

 

For the sake of Thai kids, the situation has become one of "desperate times require desperate measures".
