Both of my elbows have been giving me grief since about June, seems like the pain almost started overnight.

Waited about 8-10 weeks to see if it would improve or mend but sadly not.

Went to see doctor, he confirmed tennis elbow in right arm but said not in the left?? The symptoms IMO were exactly the same, the motions of shaking hands / picking up a bag by the handle ( or similar ) / opeing a bottle etc, these sort of motions were painful.

I got a cortisone (sp) jab in right elbow, after a day or two zero pain, the releif was great. Left elbow continued to give me grief with the mentioned movements above.

Right elbow pain free for about 7-8 weeks, now the same symptoms have returned, i plan to go back for another jab and am wondering should i get one in left elbow at same time?

No pain when i'm doing nothing.

Any advice / suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi someone that has many cases of tennis elbow over the previous years from Squash and Golf found the armband just below the elbow as previous show is great for protection when recovering and getting back into using the arm/hand again without pain.

The attached photo is IMHO one of the best and fastest recovery exercise, it has worked 100% of the time for me in past, if you follow the repetitions to the letter.

A local GP back home that sees these injuries often provided me with this exercise routine.

BTW if you don't have weights, use small tins of fruit or other ingredients that you can get your fingers around, start with very small weights and progress up as the pain decreases and the mobility strength increases.

Thanks for your time and input.

I see on Lazada they have these braces but they range from 100-4000baht, can someone suggest a model from experience?

Thank you.

They are all pretty much the same. I don't see any over 500 on lazada, is there an extra 0 in what you wrote?

The ones for 180 baht look ok to me but it also depends on whether you want one with a strap you can pull to tighten it without having to unwrap it first, or only velcro.

The Futuro ones are sold in many drug stores if youwant chance to try on first.

The important thing is to apply it correctly. Should be 2 fingerbreadths below the elbow and the gel pad part should go over a spot that is a line from the elbow to the index finger. There are you tube videos on this.

Thank you, i'll have a look.

One clip i watched on youtube explains it can be either the inside or outside of the elbow that's affected, mine is the outside. With that being said does the gel part go on the same point as you explain above, ie in line with the index finger?

Many thanks again.

The only thing that ever worked for me was a brace that was placed around my forearm that supposedly allowed the elbow tendons to heal by limiting their use

After a few days the pain went away and has only periodically reappeared over the years, and after a couple of days use of the strap will disappear

+2 for the brace.

yeah, that may be in the future, where did you go for the operations?

What was the cost / recovery time?

Thank you for your input.

I had both golfers and tennis elbow in each arm for a few years. Very painful. Got it from bending my wrists when doing curls when weight lifting. Bought a theraband on Amazon and did the exercises. Helped a lot and then after a few months,  completely went away. You can check it out on YouTube.

As Sheryl says, cortisone injections carry the risk of weakening tendons.

I had golfer's elbow some years ago. Although I am a confirmed cynic on alternative medicine, I had surprisingly effective results with a couple of sessions of acupuncture. I haven't had a recurrence, and wear an arm brace as a precaution.

I had tennis elbow about 20 years ago, very painful in my experience. Al kinds of braces were tried but nothing seemed to work. Then one of the nurses suggested acupuncture and would I like to try it.

Three treatments over three weeks and I have not had any problems since.

If you can find a hospital or clinic that will perform this treatment, I highly recommend it.

Yes. I was explaining for tennis elbiow (lateral epicondylitis). Pain on the inside of the elbow is "golfer's elbow" (medial epiconylitis).

The imaginary line runs at an angle from the bump of the elbow to the index finger so you want the gel pad on it at 2 fingers below the elbow. That will actually end up being more in a straight line with the middle finger.

To test if you have it on right, stretch your arm out straight and make a tight fist and squeeze. Done without the brace, this will be painful. If the brace is correctly applied it should be virtually painless (or at least,. much much less painful) to do this because the inflamed tendon has been immobilized.

This guy went to the doctor for tennis elbow. The doc said, "Pee into this jar." The guy thought, "What the hell can the doctor learn from my pee about my tennis elbow?" He told the doc he'd have to bring back his sample later, he was bone dry at the moment. He went home with the jar and had his wife pee into it, his daughter pee into it, and he whacked the one-eyed trouser trout into it. He brought it back to the doctor who took it into his lab. Ten minutes later, the doctor returned and said, "Your wife has syphilis, your daughter's pregnant, and if you don't stop whacking your weasel you'll NEVER get rid of that tennis elbow!" Try the eel, I'm here 'til Tuesday.

New treatments include Voodoo Flossing and Body Tempering!

Check out Donnie Thompson and Kelly Starrett, et al on Youtube for various protocols. Fantastic results for prehab and rehab when needed.

I’ve had mine for about 8 months this now. Have tried cortisone and prp injections, acupuncture, theraband exercises, the brace and anti inflammatories with no Improvement. Pain would go for about a week after each of the major treatments, but always comes back. I’m just going to rest it now and hope for the best.

You might look into the possibility that you have RA. Elbows are often times the first joints to show signs. RA is also bilateral.

I had same problem in my right elbow.

In Finland i met a man who fix different kind of muscle and all kind of pain problems.

He wrap a bandage around my right wrist (not elastic / not too tight).

First i did not believe that bandage make some differens, but after 4-5 days pain was gone.

This was about 6 years ago, and still no pain.

go check your URIC ACID levels... this might be the ROOT CAUSE of your problem

or a hs-crp for inflammation

cortisone, injections , nsaid, all good for symptoms, that will come back when you stop those and don't forget about side effects of them all

I used acupuncture successfully.
