Shipping by the pound might be fairer to other passengers. All passengers should just be charged by the kilogram for their tickets. This is really the only sensible solution. Also, this would be healthier for America, too. This would incentivse weight loss, and lower the incidence of type-two diabetes. -

Chinese Tourist Seriously Injured in Pattaya Road Collision
At night too. Completely brainless. However, I see many trying to cross there and a fair proportion of them are Chinese. I wonder if on all of the Chinese forums about travelling in Thailand on the cheap (that they all religiously follow) there is a thread about crossing Sukhumvit to get the 10 Baht baht bus rather than a 60 Baht motorbike. -

Are oxygen concentrators useful in hospital scenarios?
Oxygen concentrators can be used in hospitals and sometimes are. The piped in oxygen found in large hospitals sometimes comes from large oxygen concentrators, other times ftom liquid oxygen storage tanks or high pressure oxygen cylinders. The kind of tanks needing regular refill, that you are thinking of are used only in much smaller hospitals. Oxygen cylinders need a regular supply of electricity which is likely lacking in a field hospital of this type. Sudden overnight cessation of US humanitarian foreign aid, with no prior notice , is both unprecedented and sure to cause deaths. Probably not a USAID issue in this instance as refugee aid usually comes through a special State Dept offiice (ditto emergency disaster relief) but these too were abruptly cut off with no time to seek alernative fjnancing. -
