September 21, 20196 yr Popular Post Wat Khanon Nuea , Ban Krot, Ayutthaya. Not much of a Wat ( photographically speaking ) but interesting for the shear number of large bats living in several trees surrounding the Wat.Told the gf was gonna go back with a ladder today to get some closer photos, she got all panicky “ no you cannot, people not like !! “ [emoji3]

September 22, 20196 yr I am lucky with my lens and also by the fact that the bird likes me (does not fly away when approached)....

Looks like a Mynah bird......horrible Squawking birds who are very territorial and will attack others and drive them away, including attacking their nests if they have any.

September 29, 20196 yr Green Jackfruit is really pretty disgusting. It’s a pretty cheap fruit so hardly worth stealing.

This is just a harmless caterpillar. I think it will turn into a hawk moth, although not sure what species. Those large bright 'eyes' are just false eyes, and that spike / stinger is just skin... all designed to scare off birds and other animals that might want to eat it. Not dangerous at all (might be toxic is you eat it though).

Dtam Canoon is one of my favourite Thai foods (ask your Thai friends to get you some if you have never tried it). It is also used a lot in curries and salads. People don't tend to pinch these because they are very inexpensive and common, not like the expensive Durian fruit or even the ripe large sweet jackfruits.
