PM chairs political parties' meeting

BANGKOK, 7 December 2018 (NNT) - Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over a meeting with political parties to promote the understanding about a general election early next year. 

The premier met with political parties, the National Council for Peace and Order and the Election Commission, to brief on the regulations for the upcoming general election. 

He said the government and the NCPO have duties to ensure the orderliness of the general election, asserting that the election will proceed without any obstruction. 

His meeting with political parties was held for a second time on Friday according to the organic law which requires meetings to be arranged to get prepared for the general election. 

The PM said the meeting marked the first step on the country's journey back to democracy, adding that participation by many parties is indicative of their cooperation and intention to achieve peace and orderliness in the society.

"Peace and orderliness" as opposed to the divisiveness and community separation that has been the trademark of the junta for the past 4+ years.

The same "orderliness" that has allowed the national wealth owned by the elite 1% not only to be protected but allowed to grow from 58% to 67%? The same "orderliness" as a few frog kissing visits to the farming folk whose incomes continue to diminish? 

Good that the other 99% can occasionally see a public display of the "orderliness" and well-being of the junta.

Does seem to contradict itself.

The base ideals of free, independent, and fair elective process doesn't require over lording by rulers that were not elected.

Pheu Thai party cries foul over reported omission of party logos from poll ballots

The Pheu Thai party has cried foul over what its spokesman described as an “election tragedy” a proposal reportedly from Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha that the election ballots will show only the names and numbers of candidates without party logos.

Why should he 'chair' anything such, as a dictator and front-man of a coup and, among other despicable tools, leading its executive NCPO committee?

He couldn't have just taken a small step back, was it only out of some, fake, humility, a remote sense of ethica, or for the sake of the country he pretends to serve?

Well, no, he couldn't, that's him, and ALL Thais do know why (and none seem to be prepared to do anything about it)...

As for the illustrating picture, can anyone let me know when it is 'carnival' time in Thailand, as the officials seem to be training hard in the prospect, I don't want to miss the colourfull event! Even all the immigration officers(*) were in disguise of a same ridiculous level where I live when I went there some time ago (* not the 'deputies' who only got a flowery ...hawaian T-shirt)!

When this is all paid with some bit of the billions thrown away for that 'Thai naiom' craze, that part at least makes a bit of sense, making many, 'aliens' and Thais alike, 'happy', smiling or laughing about the ridicule of the situation...
