Advice in case I'm wrong re wiring a plug.

I finally the right plug for the job, but just want to be sure the the 2 wired extension cord goes in the left and right connection, nothing in the middle. Please confirm.

Yes. The middle is the earth (ground).

Leave the middle without any connection.

Also make sure that the outside isolation is intact until the small bracket which closes it. See picture

And don't forget to thread the cover onto the cable before you do the connections

and don't forget to put the male connector on the appliance and the female on the extension lead

is your advice normally to intentionally omit the "ground" ??

Many cables and many wall outlets in Thailand don't have ground.

The OP wrote about 2 wires = there is no ground wire.

 

When I googled for a picture with the isolation above I saw a picture that someone connected the ground wire together with another wire on one of the main pins. That is obviously wrong and very dangerous. That is why I mentioned above - just to be sure.

You are correct, there are only two wires in the extension cord, no earth wire, so the middle terminal is left open.

Two wire extension cable most likely for a double insulated garden tool.

That only works if all your power outlets are grounded as well, and there's actually an earth wire buried in the ground somewhere.

If you want a way to remember (US standard), looking at a male plug head on, when ground is down white is right.  White being input low. Standard wiring in the US is black, white, green.  The 220 equivalent is brown, blue, green.

Yes, I do, and plug wired successfully and working fine. Thanks to all for the advice.
