One YouTuber has alluded to the fact that Statutory Declarations have not always been required for a Non-O and subsequent extensions. What was the standard in the "old days"?  I don't know how long they have been required, but I DO know at least one expat who was "grandfathered in " under the previous income requirements and did not have to show more than 1500 dollars a month. Does anyone know what was done in the "pre-affidavit" days??

I think proof of income from an embassy has been required since they started doing extensions that required financial proof.

The started raising the financial requirements in 1998 after the devaluation of the baht.
