I am just wondering about the term ประทับใจ (pra tap jai). I have heard it used in the song เรื่องบนเตียง (ruang bon tiang) by Peacemaker. I can't find an explanation in my dictionary but the wife says it means 'impressed with'. Is this correct? Is this term used a lot?

I've always thought it meant "to have pride in" or "feel good about". Others will have a far better grasp of Thai than me.

yes, I think the word ประทับ actually means "impression" or "to stamp" (in the mind or minting a coin, etc).

Yes ประทับใจ means impress. you can add ความ in front to get impression
