Fake ID card producers reported in Northern Region

Fake identification card producers have been reported in the Northern Region. Deputy Secretary of the Council for National Security (CNS) instructed officials to bring the wrongdoers to justice, while indicating that there have been reports of collaboration amongst provincial bureaucrats and fake ID card producers.

CNS Deputy Secretary Gen.Saprang Kanlayanamitr (สพรั่ง กัลยาณมิตร) revealed that soldiers stationed in the region had informed him of three fake ID card and passport producers. Their customers are migrants in Chiang Mai and other nearby provinces. Officials are now gathering intelligence to find the wrongdoers. Gen.Saprang said that bureaucrats involved in the production of fake ID cards and passports will face maximum disciplinary punishments

Gen.Saprang added that the immigration problem is underestimated by state officials. Migrants might enter the country with the objective to create insurgency.
