UK National,  one Thai child Non O 3 months from jomtien expires this week.  Can't extend as Thai Mother not here.  Not sufficient  funds in bank,  has all paperwork, birth cert,  I. D card Mother tambien. Was told go Malaya to get..... Is best place Vientiane and can get one year?

If seeking a 1-year Non-O ME Visa based on being the legal parent of a Thai child, the only place I am aware of in the area offering this is Penang (maybe other Thai consulates in Malaysia).  But, that consulate requires financial-proofs to get it - so 400K in the bank (can be a foreign-bank), or 40K/mo income.

 

A single-entry version of the visa is available in Laos for the parent of a Thai without financials - but the 1-year-ME Non-O is only available if one is married to a Thai.  If he doesn't have the financials, a single-entry Non-O would be the only option.

You could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your child if they could be with you when you apply for it.

You would need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry.
