Airports return to normal after storm cancellations

All airports in the Southern region resumed services on Saturday after tropical storm Pabuk travelled out of the region into the Andaman Sea.

 

Ampawan Wannako, chief of the Department of Airports, said Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat airports would return to normal services at noon on Saturday after being closed because of the tropical storm.

 

Passengers could book flights and were asked to allow extra time before flight departures.

 

Other airports that resumed operations on Saturday, included Chumphon, Ranong, Krabi, Trang and Narathiwat airports.

 

The department will monitor the situation closely by cooperating with provincial authorities to assist passengers, she said.
