every twbeo months

and don't use the excemption

I would be happy to hear more off this

There is now a limit of 90 days total using visa exemption so using tourist visas is a good idea if you want to avoid coming up against the day count on each entry. A tourist visa normally allows 60 day and can be extended in-country for another 30 days.

Thank you Lopburi3

How manny times you can do that ?

Because since 2 oct we have almost used

2 tourist visas and also 1 excemption

the next excemption we have

to make in the begining of march

from Samui

I think it's 3 in a row [3 tourist visas from Penang]

after that it's just a matter of going

back to your own home country [ Holland]

and aply for a triple or year visa?

some lawyers tells us that we don't have to go back

and that we can repead it

I don't think so

what's your idea about it ? Lopburi3

There is no restrictions on visa entry. As long as you can find a Consulate willing to issue you a visa Immigration has not indicated any intent to block your entry into Thailand. Most Consulates also seem to be willing to issue tourist visas without restrictions. The issue is entry without visa and that will be limited to 90 days in any six month period.

Went to Suuan Phlu today to extend my second tourist single-entry visa (first activated sept 27th last year) and we (Japanese wife and myself) asked if we could go to penang in thirty days and come back to Thailand as we were unsure of the "rules'. They said you can go and get a tourist visa or come back on a V.O.A. Seems to me that nothing really has changed at all regarding short term visas apart from the fact that three v.o.a.'s is all you get but you can then get back on track by simply getting a tourist visa. Does this meet with any confirmation from anyone on this forum? We are not worried at all - but then just short of that magic 50 year old status when we can get retirement visas. (not interested in Non B's for many reasons -as long as the tourist visas are given, we will continue to get them).

I have a similar question - I will have used my 90 days worth of VOA's just in time for my return visit for a few weeks to the US. Once there, I will apply for a tourist visa for another 60 days so I can return to pack up my things and tie up loose ends.

I'm wondering, however - on a proper tourist visa, is it a single entry? Can I take a visit to my brother in Cambodia, then return to Thailand within that 60 day period on that one visa?

Is it possible to get the re-entry stamp that I used to get for my Non-B before departing?

Thanks for any help!

What has changed is they you can not continue to use entry without visa without either leaving for 90 days or obtaining a real visa.

A single entry visa is used on entry. You can obtain a use a re-entry permit to keep the permitted to stay time alive just as you did on a non immigrant visa or extension of stay.

Thanks Lop! I always appreciate your knowledgeable guidance.
