Apartment Or House?

Featured Replies

I'm after some advice. I'm moving to CM in a few months time and I'm trying to decide between renting an apartment or a house (budget up to 10k). I'd like to live as close to the centre as possible.

I'd prefer a house as I find apartments claustrophobic probably due to having lived in houses all my life but I've seen other threads here mentioning the posibility of burglaries. Is this a serious threat in CM or am I worrying unduly?

At present I live in a small village in Nan province, the sort of place where you dont bother locking your door when you go out. I obviously realise CM isn't that idylic but any advice would be appreciated.

I live in Sansai Noi about 7 km out side the center but it's a peaceful village. My rent is 5,000 B per month (not furnished) plus utilities for a 3 bed room home no one ever lived in before. I have seen places in my area for 8,000 B per month furnished and I think they have some utilities included.

Yeah, I pay the same. 3 bedroom, 2 floor house in a compound. No furniture to speak of was included, but furniture is cheap...

Actually I think houses are FARRRRrrr better value than condominiums. But it's a personal choice what people prefer.

There is a very nice 3 bedroom house for rent in my soi. Pleasant neighbours :o and not far from the Rincome junction off the Superhighway. Only five minutes into the city, and 8,000 baht a month

At the risk of infringing Ta22's copyright....If you want any further details PM me :D
