Featured Replies

Police in Takeo and Battambang provinces located and destroyed more than 7,000 marijuana plants during a three-day crackdown which started on Monday. Colonel Yuk Sarath, Kirivong district police chief in Takeo province, said that he led raids on Wednesday and yesterday, when he found ten locations with a total of 3,239 marijuana plants in Preah Bat Choanchum commune.

He said that on Wednesday, they found six locations with a total of 2,115 plants covering an area of 1,570 square metres. “We are tracking the owners to arrest them and take court action against them,” Col Sarath said.

He said that yesterday his officers also cracked down on another four locations in the commune and destroyed 1,124 marijuana plants over an area of 744 square meters. “We pulled out the marijuana plants and burned them on the spot,” Col Sarath said.
