They will discuss implementation of the Asean-EU Plan of Action for 2018-2022, which covers security, trade and investment, connectivity and sustainable development, according to a Thai Foreign Ministry press statement. The ministers are also expected to discuss the situation in Myanmar’s strife-torn Rakhine state, notably the stalemate in repatriating Myanmar refugees from Bangladesh, and political developments in Thailand, according to an official involved in the meeting who spoke on condition of anonymity. Other topics include climate change, transnational crime, cyber security, border management and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, the ministry said. The discussion will end with all ministers and representatives signing the Joint Statement of the 22nd Asean-EU Ministerial Meeting to affirm the agreed-upon commitments. Attendees include the foreign ministers of all member states, the Asean secretary-general and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and vice president of the EU. Eligius
You could not make this nonsense up if you tried. Thailand's junta pontificating about ASEAN/EU politics. Ridiculous. There really is nothing to be said - except that either I am totally mad, deluded, mendacious - or these people are!

Well, look on the bright side; its an uncommon opportunity for a bunch of undeserving dullards and fascists to have their moment in the sun. Given what's in store for them (which they can either see or not see), I would not begrudge them a few moments of feeling good.

I doubt the EU will be much impressed by the shenanigans going on over the date of the election. After all the Generals have had almost 5 years to set one. Can't see the EU looking favourably at a free trade agreement with Thailand while there is a continuance of military rule and an obvious reluctance by the leaders to turn the country into a democracy. Srikcir
It's notable that Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai is willing to internationalize the discussion of Myanmar’s strife-torn Rakhine state while the Prayut government refuses the same degree of discussion concerning the decade old Muslim insurgency in Thailand. That's duplicity and lack of leadership needed in the ASEAN. Look over there and not over here.
