This happens quite often, threads that are listed on the "side thread menu" seem to be junk.  I haven't opened any of them.  Anyone else experiencing this?  See screen snapshot below:

Everyone is. It's just spam.

 

This site has a fairly unusual policy of allowing posts from new members to be visible immediately, rather than making them wait to be moderated before being made visible. Presumably this is done so as to encourage new members to post, but the downside is obvious.

Yes  one of the reasons i do not respond to new members anymore.

They are trolls or it turns into some kind of advertisement.

I especially like the ones where one new member asks whether something is any good, and another new member comes around to say that it's great.  Tag team spamming...
