Thai Consulates In Malaysia

Featured Replies

A friend of mine who is visiting has decided that he wants to stay on in Thailand for a while longer. He was planning a trip to Malaysia at some point, so I suggested that he should get a Tourist Visa in Penang or KL whilst he was visiting.

Does anyone know whether the respective Consulates are open on Saturdays or Sundays?

Does anyone know how much he would have to pay for a Tourist Visa? (There don't seem to be websites for the Consulates?)

Does he need anything else apart from money, passports and photos?

If anyone has the same information for the Consulate in Singapore, that could be quite useful too...

Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers :o

I do not know the exact price, but a tourist visa will cost apprx between 1500 -2000 baht, will not be much more expensive.he could also go to Kota bahru, where they give it as easily as anywhere, and there is a nice island nearby where you can relax,I like the area alot and you do not hear people write a lot about this place, but it's great and much better then penang. The visaprocedures are the same as KL and penang.he will not need anymore then his passport .maybe he could be asked why he wants to come to thai again and just say cause he wants to extends his holiday ,no problems whatsoever.Good luck.

oh forgot to mention that in the weekends they are closed,so better plan to fly in on Sunday, apply on Monday and take the visa the day after!!

Kuala Lumpur RT Embassy

Office Hours :Monday - Friday

Visa and Consular section : 09.30 - 13.00 hrs.

Penang RT Consulate ??? no information but should be Mo-Fr.

Singapore RT Embassy

Office Hours :

Visa and Consular section : 09.15-12.00 a.m. and 14.00-16.30 p.m.

For sure none will open on Sat/Sun and I would check with either place as they might have rules to accept applications in the mornings, afternoon for pick up.

Thanks for all of the helpful advice guys!

Kota Baru may well be closed Friday and Saturday, open Sunday

as they are in a more extreme Islamic state.

I am not sure.

Call first.
