American Man in Critical Condition After Self-Inflicted Knife Wounds in Pattaya
Picture and video from responders. An American man is in critical condition after stabbing himself multiple times in the throat and chest in a dramatic incident that unfolded on a busy Pattaya road. Emergency responders managed to restrain the man and rush him to hospital, but he remains in a life-threatening condition. The incident occurred at approximately 17:05 on 3 March, on the central reservation of Sukhumvit Road near the traffic lights motorway junction, in North Pattaya. Witnesses reported that the man, identified only as 35-year-old Mr Brian, was sitting on the ground reading aloud from a book, while holding a 10cm knife to his throat. Police and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation attempted to talk him down, but he suddenly began stabbing himself in a frenzied attack, causing severe bleeding. As officers moved in, the man resisted violently, breaking free and running erratically with blood covering his body. He then collapsed to his knees, repeatedly punching the ground in apparent distress before authorities were able to restrain him. He was given emergency first aid before being transported to hospital. Authorities discovered his belongings nearby, including several novels by well-known authors. His passport was also recovered. A witness, 63-year-old Ms Tipawan, described her fear upon seeing the foreign man initially pressing the knife to his own throat. Concerned that he might become aggressive towards others, she quickly alerted police. The exact cause of the man’s distress remains unknown. Investigators are attempting to contact his family to determine any underlying issues that may have contributed to the disturbing event. Police continue to monitor the case, while medical professionals are providing critical care in an attempt to stabilise the man’s condition. -- 2025-04-03 -

Marine Le Pen’s Political Future in doubt, verdict rocks French far right
Another fine demonstration on how the woke leftist liberals are desperate in Europe in trying to muzzle what a majority of their own people want. On a different note, one may or may not like Trump. But more then one european would do anything to have Trump in charge of their country or within the European Union. -

Trump Starts Global Tariff Wall, Thailand Hit with 36% Tax
Of course it won't happen overnight. No one said it would. But I think you are missing the impact this already has on American weapon industry. This is about when the orders stop coming. And that is already happening, after Trump's impact on America. There are countries today, who are ordering planes, delivered a few years ahead, from Sweden. The Jas 39 Gripen is a highly sophisticated and modern fighter jet. Colombia did it today actually, Brazil has done it, Thailand just did, and the Czech Republic. Even the UK. More will follow. When Norway decided to go for F-35, we actually had second thoughts, the Gripen almost became our choice. Today its no doubt, we won't order anything more from the US. And many countries think like us. So this is already having an impact. It won't take two decades to make a huge hit on the American weapons industry. Not at all. -

Bidding farewell
I would not compare Thailand with Australia's prices From 1 July 2024, the national minimum wage is $915.90 based on a week of 38 ordinary hours ($24.10 per hour).
