New Boobies!

Featured Replies

My sister has decided she will get married on Phuket later this year (it's been a loooooong engagement!) :D

.... anyhows - she wants new boobies while she is here. Despite my protestations - she is determined (cos I have some and she doesn't - her words not mine) and has asked me to check out some decent hospitals and docs in Bangkok.

Do any of you ladies know of good cosmetic surgeons in Bangkok who I can research?

Thanks so much for your qualified recommendations!

I am not a lady (or a ladyboy) so take my advice for what its worth.

I am a frequent visitor to YanHee International Hospital, across the river. This hospital is known for its cosmetic surgery. My ex had some work done there a few years ago - in the cosmetic surgery department but not a boob job. She was pleased with her results.

In my visits to this hospital, I usually go to the eye clinic, which is just next door to the cosmetic surgery section. On more than one occasion, I have seen women come from that clinic and showing signs of being happy with a new bustline -- touching themselves and looking in the mirrors in the lifts.

The staff is generally competent in English and their international department offiers translators.

As I said, I can't give a personal recommendation but I think you should check it out.

Bumrungrad International, would prob be best spot. :o

It certainly would be the most expensive!

I second the Bumrungrad. Got a few family members planning on coming over during the year for the same procedure and they will all be going there. You can look into the doctors and their qualifications online and they've got the prices online too - Aug with Saline/Gel implants package Definitely recommend silicone gel implants over saline too.

Lanny - not as expensive as you think either, especially compared to countries like the US and Australia.

:D

If you're not bothered and she is did you consider making medical history ?

Tit transplant.

I agree with Lanny, YanHee hospital is number one for all kinds of plastic surgery - I am pretty sure its where all the beatiful boys get their beatiful breasts

I agree, compared to the US or other places, even Bumrungrad is very economical. Nevertheless, I stand by my statement that Bumrungrad is more expensive than YanHee -- or most other hospitals in Thailand.

I've had surgery at Bumrungrad and at YanHee -- different procedures, true, but the cost difference was significant. At Bumrungrad my cost for a gall bladder removal, without insurance, was probably no more than the co-pay would have been in the US. On the other hand, cataract surgery at YanHee was about 2/3 the cost at Bumrungrad!

YanHee is not quite so stylish, is more functional in design, but the doctors seem equally qualified and competent. They even changed the name recently to "YanHee International."

I would definatley go with Bumrungrad. Mrs Womble was retrofitted there and both of us are really happy with them. The Surgeon that did the op had worked there 20 years, and was excellant. Cost is around 70-90k, but that includes follow up visits to make sure all is well. The cost varies depending on type of implant, method of insertion and how long you stay in hospital (normally one night).

Ask for Dr Somchai

I have looked into this also, you know just out of idle curiosity :o !

I have been to Yanhee for a course of Microdermabrasion and have to say I found the whole hospital quite unproffesional, yes it'll cost you nearly half the price of Bumrungrad for new boobies there but there's a reason some surgeons get paid less than others.

Bumrungrad had a fantastic offer last time I looked, for a new boobs package plus an uplift for only 10K extra. The link below is one of the packages they offer, it's still major surgery so pay for the best. Also I'd ask the doc for references and before/after pics.

Certainly not trying to put a dampener on things, but this is something I've wondered about for a while, maybe Sheryl or someone knows the answer: If you have implants can you still feel suspect lumps in your breast, or would they be hidden by the implant? What about mammograms? I only ask because Mum has had breast cancer twice & I'm high risk & it's something I'd wondered about when I'd seen all the models & celebrities going for their huge boobs.. Sorry, for straying off topic a bit, khall!

Hi, I lost my mum to breast cancer so I'm high risk too and have tried to find out about implants and lumps etc, as to the lump it depends where in the breast it is, also my mum never even had a lump, cancer was only discovered after it had spread and she started to have pain in her arm. Under a mammogram sp? the breast implant shows up the same way that a cancer would show thats why it's harder to tell with implants, but with the new technology this is becoming less and less of a problem, and the main thing is breast implants do not cause cancer. I'm still determined to get new boobs at some point in the future!

Hope this helps.

If breast cancer detection and implants really concerns any of you, maybe an MRI would be a better option.

Found the following info at Breast Cancer Awareness & Early Detection

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a test that uses magnets and radio waves to create a detailed image of the breast. This test is usually an effective way of detecting breast cancer. Women who have a family history of breast cancer should consider a yearly scan in addition to a mammogram. MRI’S are also recommended to breast implant patients who suspect they may have an implant rupture. Other candidates for MRI’S are women with dense breasts. Many premenopausal women have dense breasts. This means their breasts have more glandular and connective tissue than fat. Sometimes a woman can tell by feeling her breasts but to confirm this they should have a mammogram. Sometimes dense tissue can hide tumors even from the experts this is another reason women with dense breasts are encouraged to have MRI’S.

Also off topic but another question that a lot of women who want implants is : CAN THEY STILL BREASTFEED?

Yes - I breastfed my daughter with no problems, as have many women that I know.

Only problem I had with having implants is that my boobs got SO HUGE during my pregnancy and I had a sore back from carrying those things up front..... On the other hand, my husband thought they were wonderful and no trouble at all :o

khall64au - does your sis have any idea on size (cc's), insertion/placement and type of implant she wants? Best for her to get as much info beforehand.

Di

For what it's worth, I once read online that a good way to get a feel for the size of implant you want in ccs is to buy a bra in the size you wish to be. Then, use a plastic baggie in each cup and fill with rice to come up with the volume you need.

I have heard that only the round implants are used here; the teardrop shape may give a nicer look in some women, but it is also prone to rotate and then give a peculiar shape instead. Round is the same no matter how it may rotate.

I've wanted implants for a couple decades, but my husband hates big boobies. Geez, all I want is a full C cup...fat middle-aged women are supposed to have big droopy boobies, not the kind that look the same with or without a bra. :o

So that we can all understand what we're talking about, sizes, shapes etc, and for clarity, perhaps it would be a good idea if you could take some photos of the ones you had done and the ones your sister has at the moment, and post them here.

This way, I'm sure you'll get better and more precise answers.

For clarity, you understand.

LUCIFER!!! You devil - for clarity, mine are natural btw :D

Thanks to all who have offered constructive advice so far - am relaying it to my sis, so please keep it coming....

Wow, I'm impressed. How old is your sister, that she wants to look like her 42 year older sister?

Some more off-topic stuff. My wife has been thinking about getting some new boobies fitted too, as she misses the ones she had when she was pregnant and breast-feeding (our kids are 3 & 1).

Do the women on here think I am wrong to be trying to dissuade her from getting the op?

I don't know too much about it, but I thought it was a bit risky and I must say I was surprised at the post on breast feeding as I thought you couldn't breastfeed with fake ones.

I'm certainly not against her having larger boobs, but the ones she has now are small, but very nice, and I wouldn't want to risk ruining them.

Perhaps the surgery is so common nowadays that the risk is very small?

Since I started this thread and did say "despite my protestations" my sis is still determined - I will explain why I don't want her to have this operative procedure.

About four years ago - just after I first moved to Phuket - I met a Swedish man who was grieving his lost wife. They had come to Phuket for an early retirement - both in their early 50's. She decided to get new boobs ... but never woke up from the anaesthetic.

A perfectly healthy woman had died for the sake of perky young breasts! :D

It does happen! :o

Khall - well anytime you are put under, there is inherent risk because unknown complications can make an ordinary procedure turn not so ordinary. :o

Khall, that is sad news about that woman that died, but any surgery is not without risk. Having a good anesthesiologist is just as important as having a good surgeon.

Not too sure what the procedure is here in Thailand, but in Australia, you need to see the anesthesiologist before the surgery for a checkup to make sure that you are healthy and to answer questions about previous complication or health issues that is important for them to know. After my first aug, I was so sick from the anesthetic that for the following surgeries they gave me medication to stop nausea and vomiting which worked like a dream.

You're not alone in thinking that breastfeeding isn't possible after implants but you can. The implants are placed either submuscular (also called under the muscle) - where a pocket is cut in the muscle and implant is placed

complete_under_placement1.jpg

Or subglandular (on top of the muscle).

over_muscle_placement.jpg

The 3rd placement which is partial submuscular (a.k.a. partial unders & partial sub-pectoral).

partial_under_placement.jpg

You can see from these diagrams how breastfeeding is still possible with implants, as all the glands and ducts are still above the implants. If for some reason a woman cannot breastfeed, it would most likely be due to complications when the implant was inserted throught the areola. You would have to be very unfortunate to have that (or losing feeling in the nipple) happen to you as I've had implants inserted through the areola 3 times, and never had it happen to me.

Insertion can either be transaxillary (transax or armpit incision), Areola (nipple incision, peri-areolar incision), Inframammary fold (crease incision) or TUBA (transumbilical, belly button, or navel incision), although I wouldn't recommend the TUBA if it was offered.

Some useful links for anyone wanting information can be found at http://www.justbreastimplants.com/

For sizing info - http://www.justbreastimplants.com/size.htm , placement infomation - http://www.lookingyourbest.com/breast/arti...mplantplacement and possible risks - http://www.justbreastimplants.com/risks/ are just a couple of good links to get started with.

Personally I've had 3 augumentations, and hopefully going in for another :D upgrade later this year. Having said that, I will be getting it done in Australia - ONLY because 1) I get a special price from my surgeon there who has done all my breast augumentations over the years and 2) when I did enquire about having them redone here in Bangkok, I was told that my size is not available. Even if they could order my size, I would probably still wouldn't get them done here as they would have no experience inserting large implants - and I'm not willing to be the first no matter how good the surgeon is. Unless my next set was going to be less than 600cc, I would most probably get them done in BKK but since my husband is dead set again a major reduction I'll probably get 800 or

And in case you are wondering why all the surgeries - it wasn't because of complications but that I wanted to go bigger. I started out with 275cc saline, then few years later 430cc's saline and finally 800cc silicone.

A couple of pics to see the difference between 430cc and 800cc. i'm wearing the same bikini top in both so you can difference in sizes. Because I'm wide across the shoulders and and chest, the 430's were too small for my frame and before I chose to go up to 800cc (E/F), I actually got the diameter measurements for different sized implants to determine which size would give me cleavage (less gap between the boobs) instead of having them look like 2 tennis balls stuck on my chest. :o

And pic of 800's compared to my daughters head.

Fabulously informative post, MsFigure!

Yeah, the 430's were just not right for you at all. I liked the 600s best, I think, but they are your boobies so you get to have the ones you like. You sure are cut in that first pic!. Do you know just how low your BMI was at that point? It looks to be about 18 to me, but that's just a guess.

Somehow my daughter got blessed with natural 32DDs, DDD/E now that she's nursing. Where did that come from?? All my adult life before I got fat I was a 34B. Now I'm a 40B. :o If I have to be fat, can't I at least have boobies???

Agreed, very interesting, lots I never knew there.

And cathyy, I gained weight and went up a cup size but stayed the same bra size. Counted myself fortunate :D

600's ? I've got 800's :o .

As for my BMI, I've never bothered getting it tested before, as I don't think there is any method that can give a true answer.

For most women, if they want to go big with implants; I would recommend 450 - 500cc. Women generally carry more bf (and more breast tissue) than I do, nor are they as wide across the shoulders or back - so those sizes would give a nice full look. The smallest size I would recommend is 350 because anything else will have you definitely going back in for an up-size. The number of girls that have gone small for fear that the implants will look too big have all regretted not going larger, especially once the implants have settled.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I went up to a H cup (mother-in-law sent me maternity bras from Australia cause there was no way I could get them that big here LOL). That happened in my first trimester so I was dreading for the last month when apparently the boobs get even bigger from the milk, but thankfully they didn't grow, or at least that much bigger that I noticed.

Cathyy, seems like you're normal to me. Women either put their weight first up top or down bottom, not much that you can do about it LOL Some women either put fat back on their boobs first, their bellies, or their backs - nothing we can really do about that other than get a little help from surgery (breast enhancement to balance things out)

Yeah, I know about the shoulder width thing. I've spent my life buying tops a size larger than pants, just for the shoulder width...and having the boob area be too big. :o Bras tend to be too narrow at the base and pointed, and I'm not. Which is why I still look fine without a bra at 54. Even now, my hips are no wider than my chest at the underarm.

My family has the genetics for broad shoulders and good muscle development. When my sons were born, they did an extra careful check on them for a broken collarbone. It happens mostly when the shoulder diameter is as big or bigger than the head diameter, which theirs were. When my oldest son was 21 he "filled out" unexpectedly. He went from 130 pounds (at 6 feet tall) to about 180 pounds, all muscle, without as much as looking at any training equipment. :D He's total computer geek, has no idea of his strength.

You don't need to tell me how hard it is to find clothes for having a too large upper body - when you have measurements

43" Across the shoulders, 39" upper chest, 38" across the breasts, 29" underneath breasts, 24" waist and 33/34" hips/butt - it makes all but impossible to find clothes that don't require major modifications. All I can say is "THANK GOD for low rider jeans and stretchy tops" b_grind.gif .

Some guys would kill to have to have your sons problem.

Di

Ms figure,

Defo interesting for those of us that hope to get new boobs in the near future!

The 800's defo look much more natural on you, I was wondering why you chose sub-glandular over sub-muscular, I always though sub-muscular would give a more natural look? I'm just wondering what the best look is, I am actually a C cup at the mo becuase of being preggo :D but I'm usually an A :o so I'm sure I'll go for a C cup size when I get them done as they're just nice now! (apart from the preggo vienyness!). I'll just take my maternty bra's in to the doc and say 'fill em up'! :D
