Not seen any mention of this elsewhere, so may be worth a note.

Went for my sixth extension this morning at Aek Udon branch of Nong Khai Imm.

Having brought the usual two sets of copies of the usual documents, the majority were passed back - Not needed, not needed was the cry.

I have not yet checked what was kept, it seemed a lot less than usual. Was also asked to suggest a suitable Sterling-Baht conversion rate.

All done in less than ten minutes, and asked to wait outside the ofice. About five minutes later I was given my passport complete with one year stamp.

I think an OK was received from Suan Plu whilst I was waiting.

n.b. Aek Udon office will be closed on 5th and 9th March. The closure on the 9th due to meeting at Nong Khai office.

Hiya " Grandad "

Can you supply a description of the duty officer please if it is different from my last visit. ?

In the past it has been a male officer with glasses who did the interviewing.

His methods where inconsistent to say the least.

There where only 2 officers, him and a superior who used to sign the documents ect. for acceptance.

Hopefully they have either changed their working practices to a more visa friendly manner or possibly a change over of staff has taken place ???

Many of us go direct to N.Khai to avoid problems and get a reasonable interview and save the hastle we used to get.

If the staff are now more reasonable at AEK Udon, it may be worth another try / visit locally.
