Swiss, 63 old, with Swiss passport, went to Mukda Han today for a border run regarding his Non-O-Visa.

Quiet day at Thai border, no ques as such, paid THB 40 each way for bus over Friendship Bridge, got Laos Visa for US $ 35, no ques there either, paid on entry to Laos border police

THB 40, made then a U-turn and paid then again, however this time THB 20 to Laos border police when leaving Laos.

His friend (English chap), also with Non-O-Visa, paid the same to Laos border police, however an American paid nothing, but his Thai/American wife paid 10 bath when leaving Laos.

Question: Is this Laos border police business legal? What to do next time?

Got a stamp on his Non-O-Visa saying entered Thailand on March 2 and admitted until

May 30. Went then to Mukda Han immigration office down-town to complain that date should in fact read May 31. Officer showed him a list where it says Entry March 2nd, admitted until May 30.

Who is in fact right, him, manually counting 90 days and the Beta software also counting 90 days, which would mean in both cases an admittance until May 31, or the Mukda Han officer with his in-house list saying May 30 to leave?

Thanks guys, appreciate your precise answer. Above could be important to others.

March 2 until May 30 is correct. 30 days in March, April and May = 90 days.

Computer also provides answer of 90 days between 2 March and 30 May

I think sometimes people overlook, forget, or never knew that the day of arrival into Thailand and the day of departure each count as one of the 90 days.
