Local assistance with boot(strap) problems? (Pattaya)

A computer of mine won't boot anymore, and the usual remedies for this situation won't work - none of them, it looks as if it were organised  .)

Anyhow, assuming there are locals who know the ins and outs of computery, would a knowledgeable forum reader/writer help me with some experience-founded names/addresses?

This is from a while ago, but behind QCom (the big Computer store on South Pattaya Road, down from 3rd road), there were some small Indian computer shops. They could fix most things. Just have a wander around the streets and you'll find some shops.

Probably your hard drive.

If you go out the back entrance of TukCom and walk down the soi, same soi as Kasikorn bank, look around there. Only small shop. There's some also on the way to TukCom parking lot.
This was a few years ago.
You've just gotta walk around and have a look.

That looks and sounds better than what the maker has to offer. Thanks!

Who is the maker and what is the model number of the PC?

I would hesitate to take anything to Tukcom. Don't know anything about Indian shops.

TucCom 4th or 5th floor in back at Southwest Corner is a shop that seemed pretty good to me.   Sorry don't have a name but direction  location in building is accurate.

Yes that place in TukCom is OK as well. Maybe better than the Indian shop as sometimes he wasn't there.
The Indian guy used to be in TukCom, but the rent increases made him move. Maybe his prices are cheaper too as less rent to pay.

Thanks a lot. What do you mean with 'behind'? Could you post a link like https://bit.ly/2U0mvtp (-> Ggl maps) to clarify?

And no, it's most probably not the HDD, not least because it is an SSD  .)

In my experience, both HDD's and SSD's can go bad but when SSD's go bad, they go bad faster.

Hope it's not the case though.

Check your CMOS battery & your power supply.........................

While you have the back off clean your RAM boards and re-seat them again. I know you say you have tried all the usual fixes but sometimes we forget the essentials.

As promised, here's my field report and resumee.

While trying to go to Pattaya2You, a shop apparently 300 m SE of Tukcom, I made a stop at Tukcom. Not least because I wanted to see the alternative - you know, '4th or 5th floor in back at Southwest Corner'. Unless I lost my orientation: 5th and 4th aren't possible because of 'grandes surfaces' there, but 3rd, and that is - Pattaya2You! (That is not to say that they don't have another shop near-by outside, which I didn't see, because I didn't have go there anymore.)

After asking some questions and performing a number of tests, they were confident to sense what the cause of my boot problem was. They applied their remedy, and voilà - that was it. (The various scans and copyings took some time, but that's not really worth mentioning.) It was great that they, next to their IT skills, used their normal human skills, because I was allowed to hang around, give my input (how the problem developped), plus they had their women and kids bustling about, and it felt all very natural - not like when americans (or their european lemmings) call the shots, where you must think that they have lost their senses because you feel more like you're dealing with 'robots' than people!

So the resumee is, both thumbs up - and thanks again for the tip!
