Yesterday Afternoon the wife finally cleared the final hurdle and attended the ceremony for swearing/affirming allegiance to the Queen and loyalty to the UK and collected the Certificate, given by Sister Frances of Helen House fame, recently seen on TV.

A fabulous charity for children.

One question though:

In the guidance notes it states,

'If you swear the Oath this means this is before Almighty God, if you affirm the Oath it is not'.

That in my view is a powerful syatement to make, to almost have the power to materialize God by stating on Oath.

Just a thought.

Having attended, I actually think it is worthwhile, not my cup of tea, but worthwhile all the same.

And you of little faith, I did sing the National Anthem for the first time in my life :o

Good Luck

Have a guess!! :o

She affirmed of course.

What is funny though, as she is pregnant she can't drink so me and the brother had to drink the Champayne by ourselves, you know it is a difficult job, but somebody's gotta do it. :D

Good Luck

And you didn't mention about me singing the Anthem, I bet that surprized you.!!!

Free booze? That'll do me! Mrs Scouse, fingers crossed, will be undergoing such a ceremony in six months or so, and the idea of a gratis snort on the corpie has cheered me up no end.

Not as surprized as Scouse is going to be Jangles, I was talking about the celebratory meal and obligatory bottle after the ceremony, unfortunately it was my credit card that took the hit, nothing gratis here, I am afraid. :D

Good Luck to Mrs Scouse for six months time.

Quite, when my wife did it the free 'refreshments' afterwards were a cup of tea and a biscuit!

Although an acquaintance whose wife had her ceremony in Liverpool told me that Liverpool council were a bit more generous.

Congrats to Mrs Moss, and good luck to Mrs Scouse.

Thanks GU22,

The ceremony was moved from the the Town Hall to the Registry office, so we didn't have the pleasure of even a cup of tea.

Good Luck

Moss
