Three men were arrested in Samut Prakan after police found 868kg of marijuana hidden in two houses.

Metropolitan Police Lt Gen Sutthipong Wongpin held a press conference on Thursday to announce the arrest of Somporn Kimya, 33, Supachai Neesungnone, 33, and Thawatchai (surname withheld), 18.

Sutthipong said police seized the drugs, three cars and five motorcycles from the suspects.

The officer said police conducted an investigation after the seizure of a drug shipment last last year and learned that a large amount of marijuana was being kept at a house in Ban Keha Samut Prakan housing estate in Muang district.

Police checked the house on Tuesday and found 640kg of marijuana. Police arrested Somporn and Supachai at the house.

With information from the two suspects, police said they arrested Thawatchai at another house in the same district which led to the seizure of 228kg of marijuana from a third house.

The three reportedly told police that they smuggled the drugs from Laos to sell in Samut Prakan for Bt10,000 per kilogram.

A nice bust, good.

But why is there never a sequel showing a group photo with all the chaps grinning in uniforms and showing the drugs being destroyed ?

And to think there are loads of companies listed on the stock exchange seeking investors in marijuana production and distribution.

  1. Sure make it legal, the price will drop making it available to all.
  2. In 5 years time Thailand will be just like the USA... totally screwed up nation all smoking pot with stupids grins.

I don't think it's weed that's screwed up the states.its more likely the prescription addictive crap the doctors dish out and the meth epidemic both the states and Thailand already have.i have smoked for over 30 years and in that time never known one person to commit a crime to buy weed, get into a fight because they were stoned.in the distant future people will look back and say to each other'why on earth was weed ever made illegal' as for the price dropping,I don't think so.its cheaper in the uk where it's illegal than holland where it's legal....how do I know this you may ask..yes because whenever me and a few mates go Amsterdam we take our own there with us.

Why is it a golden color?

wrapping paper, bit like what's dangling on christmas trees, just with different content, usually ...

golden color used to be Farmers Finest, prime quality, well as far as Lao brickweed goes but from what i was told that just went the way of any 'quality brand' here and indeed their bust-pics show goldwrapped bricks all the time now ...
