Hot Hot Hot! Bangkok and Isaan to hit 39C as Met Office issues storm warning

Thailand's Meteorological Office has issued a storm warning from Sunday through to Thursday for large swathes of the country. 

 

Storms with high winds, rain and hail are expected to strike in the North, North-East, Bangkok and surrounding areas, Eastern Seaboard and South. 

 

A red warning to people to avoid standing under tall trees and unstable advertising hoardings was issued. Farmers were advised to protect valuable crops. 

 

Meanwhile temperatures over the next few days were expected to hit 39C in Bangkok and the north east of the country.

Is this supposed to be help for the hard-of-learning?

Only avoid unstable advertising hoardings during a storm. The rest of the time they're completely safe - even though they're unstable.

I take it a 'red warning' is issued by Interhol - the International Hard Of Learning organisation.

This is scandalous. In the 500-700 range at the hospital the past few days - are the patients all on respirators?

I was there friday and saturday (Bangkok)... thank you very much, prefer the much cooler countryside south from BKK.

Northern Thailand has ways to protect itself from the heat. Always a few degrees cooler when the sky turns white ????

Any precipitation would be welcome as long as it reduces the humidity.. west of BKK now is getting rather sticky down below mid afternoon !

While the rain may have a cooling effect, mostly because the clouds will block out the sun, wouldn't rain increase humidity?
