Non Im O For A Yank. Oz Ok?

Featured Replies

I've been in Thailand for a year now. I that time I've had several VOAs, one 60-day tourist visa from the Thai consulate in Tokyo, and one Non Im O (single entry). A few days ago I did my last available visa run, so now I need to leave the country and get a better visa.

I'm too young for a retirement visa, so I want a multiple entry O or B. I'd rather go to Australia than the U.S. because it's closer and cheaper but would I be less likely to get it because I'm not Australian?

Also, Sunbelt Asia offers to help with a B but do I need to bother with all that to raise my chances of getting the visa? Or am I just too nervous and getting the non Im multiple entry O is a piece of cake even for a Yank in OZ?

Thanks for all advice.

If your married, you should get a 1 Non O year, even in Oz.

Brisbane would be your best bet, followed by Perth.

Sometimes, Sydney is not very helpfull, anyway, you can get cheap flights to Perth from BKK.

Just call or e-mail the Embassy before you invest in your ticket as things always change. Ask what visa you can get and what you will need, also explain you are US.

KL and Singapore also issue 1 year Non O visas if your maried. But in Singapore you also need to show 400k in the bank.

Sydney is the worst. For a tourist visa, no problem, but anything else has been, at least in the past, a no-go for me.
