  • Not happy with the result so now have another which will have the same outcome and even bigger majority. The British public is pretty well pissed off with parliament and the politicians who serve

Well then many things are in principal binding because everyone believe something different.

Brexit is finished thank God . It was only a good idea for rich businessmen like Farage who could have used the lack of supervision from the EU to roll back workers rights to the 1800s and destroy the environment for their profit as they wanted . Bolderdash to them . New referendum will bury that particular pile of crap but watch out for the nazis in the wings like Mogg.

You should visit areas  of the U.K where the importation of E.u nationals has drastically effected the lives and livelihoods of the indigenous people.

And then ask yourself, who has it benefited.

Why would anyone produce leaflets instead of embracing technology in order to target their supporters?

Mrs May's deal did support the referendum result , it was scuppered by conservatives who refused to accept reality and a labour party who had no intention of accepting Brexit at all.

So exactly who do you think will get punished ?

Mrs May's "deal" is a replacement treaty which locks the UK into several EU owned conditions with no way out except with the OK of the EU. It is not an acceptable way to satisfy the referendum result and it is not leaving the EU in any meaningful way.

Parliament has voted against no deal in any circumstances

however I wouldn't like to be the one who has to write the choices......... will there be 2 or more?

The thing about referendums is you can influence the result by the choices of question - that's why they can be undemocratic and are often the tools of despots, dictators and demagogues.

They should really have a supermajority, but the ill-organised, ill-conceived, fraudulent and ADVISORY one we just had has set an unfortunate precedent. It means that Quitters will most likely be hoist on their own petard

A  problem with the last referendum was that the group representing "Leave" wasn't actually a group....it was a disparate collection of voters who almost to a man had a different idea of what "leaving' meant - hence the 3 year cockup we're having now.

Remainers are far more unified - they wished to REMAIN and then afterwards would have argued about sorting things out.....but it is the Brexiteers who house the proberbial phrase "started it" and now remainders will have to clear uptake mess they've made.

Indications are that Leave would beat Remain by a significantly bigger margin than it did in the 2016 referendum.

I dont know if you can back your statement up with surveys etc , however the 2016 voters are now well informed about the treacherous  TM deal and therefore will be odds on to vote out again . As for the stayers I have listened to their conversations socially and many have changed their minds because of the embarrassing performance of TM and her cronies plus the over bearing EU tactics .  In fact when you look at the TM deal on the table , you would assume that there has been zero input from the UK , only a contract written by the EU team . The 2016 referendum was a vote on in or out , not half and half , not a separation but a divorce .    Is that difficult to understand ?

Nicola Sturgeon certainly thinks so!

Where in the Referendum Act did it say that this advisory referendum in 2016 was "once in a lifetime"?

"It is time for the British people to have their say," he said. "It is time to settle this European question in British politics. I say to the British people: this will be your decision."

David , waste of space , Cameron

Don't be silly. It's not binding anymore than any other promise, verbal or written in a political parties' manifesto, is "binding". Politicians deliberately lie, make false promises and do the opposite when it suits. Just because you like it doesn't make it any more binding.

As for Cameron he new he was making a promise he didn't have the authority to make. He was grandstanding because he expected to win and remain. May tried hard to get the power to implement it by executive decision and freeze parliament out. Stupid woman. She then needlessly through her government's majority away in the hope she'd increase it and be able to force her likely crap deal through.

Crock of <deleted> tipped up by squabbling Tories and hangers on.

We will argue with the WTO that Ireland is a special case and in the interest of peace that border need to be tarrif free.  As to agricultural policy we need to put up tariffs against  the EU butter/ cheese mountains and Milk lakes and redevelop our own agri-food and farming sector again. So that British farmers can be profitable and the UK less dependent on food imports

There you are TVF posters, the UK holds all the cards, the WTO will simply cower before a skilled Brexiteer negotiators, and the UK farming industry will benefit from having all those EU subsidies and cheap EU labor removed and become profitable overnight (as prices sky rocket and supply shortages bite!).

The simple world of the Brexiteer. "Tell'em all how it is" or send in the Gun Boat mentality.

Have another vote but next time give each young person two votes and old people only half a vote. Surely that's fair based on the time that each group will have to suffer the consequences.

Strange then, that if it was not binding everyone took it so seriously, immediately, including several acts of parliament.

You can go on dreaming as much as you want that a significantly better deal was achievable......

It will not change reality. The EU position was predictable from the start and quite in line with previous agreements made, I.e. Norway, Switzerland, Canada, etc...
