I question the logic behind charging him with murder.

 

Why not, instead increase the penalties for manslaughter to something serious. If manslaughter had a compulsory penalty then courts would be required to impose something no matter what the offender does to make up for his crime.

 

Charging him with murder just makes it harder for the prosecutors to meet the requirements to get a conviction.

Murder during rape is either life in prison or death penalty.

So this person may be subject to murder charges due to his DUI.  What about the hundreds and thousands of others that do that?  Is this going to be just because he killed a "top" person?

Maybe the business man is not rich enough to get out of this one. Billions of baht would help, if you're a Red Bull. 

They will drag this out for a year or two put the guy in jail for maybe a year or two and then quietly let him out... NEXT....

He made the mistake of not flying out of the country then they can play the we try but cannot get him back game...
