Here some more statements of your bible:

1) Deuteronomy 23:1 ESV
No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.
2) Genesis 38:8-10 NASB
Then Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform your duty as a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.”
3) Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NASB
If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and seizes his genitals, then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity.
4) Ezekiel 23:19-20 NET
Yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of Egypt. She lusted after their genitals as large as those of donkeys, and their seminal emission was as strong as that of stallions.
5) Exodus 4:24-25 NASB
Now it came about at the lodging place on the way that the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and threw it at Moses’ feet, and she said, “You are indeed a bridegroom of blood to me.”
6) Samuel 18:25-27 ESV
Then Saul said, “Thus shall you say to David, ‘The king desires no bride-price except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, that he may be avenged of the king’s enemies.’” Now Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son-in-law. Before the time had expired, David arose and went, along with his men, and killed two hundred of the Philistines. And David brought their foreskins, which were given in full number to the king, that he might become the king’s son-in-law. And Saul gave him his daughter Michal for a wife.
7) Leviticus 20
“18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.”
😎 Leviticus 24:16
Whoever utters the name of the Lord must be put to death. The whole community must stone him whether alien or native. If he utters the name, he must be put to death.
9) Kings 2:23
Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you bald head! Go up, you bald head!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the Lord. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
10) Deut. 28:53
Then because of the dire straights to which you will be reduced when your enemy besieges you, you will eat your own children, the flesh of your sons and daughters whom the Lord has given you.

All written by men, or do you think God actually wrote that?

The bible is a complete load of hogwash, virgin births, talking asps, the world was created when? according to that book of fiction a lot less than a million years ago, get real, And why did Joseph not even consummate their marriage, my biggest question is where did Cain's wife come from?? there was only one female in the world Eve, oh dear. Jesus must have been conceived out of wedlock by God himself no less.

Have you not read any other post on this thread? To my knowledge, no sensible poster has been claiming that the Bible is anything but a book written by humans.

If every post that didn't deal with the topic was deleted there would be about 25 pages left, IMO.

Q And why did Joseph not even consummate their marriage?

A Where did it say he didn't?

Q my biggest question is where did Cain's wife come from?? there was only one female in the world Eve

A You do know that the story of Adam and Eve was a fable, don't you?

If one has an open mind and looks at the evidence It is apparent to me that aliens inhabited the planet and vanished so long ago that we lost the memory of them, but traces of them still exist in Sth America.

Perhaps they didn't vanish though, and became the 1 %.

I had a thought just before falling asleep yesterday and I'm writing it down now in order to not forget.

I was thinking about how the world changes when we have important breakthroughs in our lives, including mystical or spiritual experiences or realizations.

Do you remember the moment when you, as a child, first realized that the worry-free time of being a child had come to an end and you first realized that you're in a new world now? A world ruled and dictated by adults, often filled with blatant contradictions, drama, dishonesty and above all, bogged down by an oppressing seriousness that was in stark contrast to the carefree existence you led until now. What changed? Not the world. The world was the same before and after. What changed was your perspective and the awareness of the dynamics and situations of adulthood.

Or do you remember the first time you discovered the other sex? Just a week before you had no thought about it whatsoever, then you see a beautiful girl and everything changes and a new world opens up before you. Now that's all you can think about: how should I talk? What should I do? What works with girls, what doesn't?
What changed? Not the outside world. You changed; your own perspective changed.

This is normal, right? This is how we grow (up). Our awareness pushes on boundaries and there is usually a catalyst that propels us on the other side, giving us a new way of perceiving things, a new way of thinking and new beliefs. We see this new field and immediately start working out strategies to best navigate this new territory. Some will play the victim to arouse sympathy from others, some prefer to assert themselves forcefully to get what they want, some will try to be accommodating, some play the clowns to make people laugh....we all have our strategy to get attention, recognition, love.

With each new change we expand our playground of experience, like new onion layers make the onion grow bigger. We don't throw the old layers away; we just build a new layer around them. We transcend the old layers, but we still include them in our personality.

So then...a spiritual awakening works the same way.
It is a change in perspective that allows a new understanding of what we had before our eyes all along. The world itself doesn't change. What changes is our perception and interpretation of it.
We shouldn't label such a change as good or bad, like we don't say it's good or bad when a seedling grows its first pair of leaves, or when a plant flowers for the first time. It just happens when the conditions and the timing are right.

Also, an important point....there is no going back. As a child, once you stepped into the world of adults, you can't revert back to the innocence of childhood. Once you discovered the world of sexuality, there is no going back to asexuality. Once you open to the wonders within and know who or what you are, there is no way back to not-knowing.

For those who don't believe in such a possibility I'd like to ask: Just because that new layer hasn't emerged in your life yet, what makes you think that it can't be a reality for others? What makes you believe that your current awareness has reached its full development/expansion?

Quite an excellent and perceptive post, Sunmaster.

I'd add only that the world is a literal extension of us.  In truth there is no "outside."  And so as we change so does our "outer" world.

Nah, if it's on the History Channel, you can be sure that theory is fake news.

LOL.

I never said they were reptiles. I think they cloned themselves to provide slaves, which means they look just like us.

Think about it. They arrived on a space ship without enough space for the slaves. No intelligent natives to use, so to make slaves they had to clone themselves, with genetically modified brains to make us inferior. Perhaps some of the slaves escaped and became modern apes, which would explain why apes are related genetically to humans.

I could be completely wrong though, and maybe they genetically modified the ape ancestors to become slaves, and they themselves all died out, or left at some stage.

This is quite a pessimistic picture you're painting. :-D

Let's assume aliens did come to visit us. Why assume they were out to get us and enslave us? It could be the complete opposite. Maybe they came here to plant the seed of knowledge, adding their DNA to the early inhabitants to help them in their (our) evolution?
Besides, for a race so advanced to permit space travel (or a shift in dimensions?), would it make logical sense that they were still at a developmental stage where they need to oppress another species?

Anyways, just speaking hypothetically. Not that I have any opinion or set beliefs about it.

I'm about to give Sunmaster his long awaited reply to a conversation we were having about the ego.  It's been 9 months in the making.    I haven't been on this thread much since then as I'm sure you've noticed.  On coming back one of the first posts I saw was the video you posted, Your Ego Is A Vampire 🧛 That Uses Your Own Energy Against You!!  How coincidental is it that I've finally come back with a reply for Sunmaster after all this time and am immediately drawn to a video about . . . the ego?  I mean, you just can't make this stuff up, right?!?!

But I now see that I f'd it up and quoted the wrong post of yours.  So, not only do you get an explanation to my cryptic comment but a correction as well!!  And I'll even throw in a comment.  It's your lucky day, save the frogs.  An explanation, a correction, an added comment, and a reuniting with an old digital friend!!  All in the same day.  And it's Friday, too (party time!!)  Again, you just can't make this stuff up!!

And now for my added comment.  This guy seems to be into eastern religion (the wall poster or tapestry behind him - as best I can make it out) and appears to subscribe to one of the sects of eastern religion which view the ego in a highly distorted and negative fashion.  I mean, the ego is the equivalent of a vampire sucking out your energy and using it against you?  Oh, for crikey's sake.  Sounds like demon possession to me.   I'm about to defend the ego.  It's my best friend.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but if my theory is correct, they bred a species so violent that it has been killing it's own since as long as we can remember. If they were clever enough to get here, they should have been clever enough to avoid the killing gene. OR they used the ape ancestor, which would have made a species subject to survival by the use of violence.

It's just a theory, and I don't claim to have all the answers.

You're describing every single animal species on the planet. It's no coincidence we're all violent. It's in our common DNA.

I can believe that. I'm my worst enemy by the things I do, even by omission. If I slowed down and thought about things before charging in I'd have had a much better life. For starters I would never in a million years have taken a partner as ill matched as my western partner, who sucked me to financial ruin, and I had to start over at 35.

However, I just can't stop myself doing stupid things, though I usually regret when too late. Perhaps that is why I married my Thai wife- I married someone just like myself!

The ego has gotten a bad, bad reputation.  If I were your ego, TBL, I'd take you to court and sue your ar$e off for defamation.  Then you would know the true meaning of financial ruin.

Well, Sunmaster, the day has come.  I had to do this before the year slipped away.  I can see you now, sitting on the edge of your seat in high anticipation, with popcorn at the ready.

Admittedly, I'm a bit nervous.  After rehearsing this moment in front of my mirror for months on end I feel a bit of stage fright.  Perhaps some intro music to help me overcome it.

If I could, i'd kick my ego into the cold where it could be miserable all by itself. I need to be ruled by logic and common sense and that damn ego just keeps getting in the way. I should be suing it for ruining my life.

As an example of what my ego makes me do that is just so wrong for me is that I just realised I've spent about 5 hours too long on this forum. That damn ego just keeps whispering that I can do one more answer.

Sooo, my sensible side is saying just turn the computer off for today, and I'm going to obey the sensible option.

Bye.

@save the frogs

Given that you posted a highly disparaging video of the ego you might want to pull up a seat next to Sunmaster and me whilst we go deep into the ego over a few beers.  I've already had more than a few.  I need plausible deniability for this presentation so that if I get accused of blabbering nonsensical idiocy I can always excuse myself for being drunk.   You might want to bring a diving suit with a very long air line, save the frogs, and keep it next to you in case you want to follow Sunmaster and I as we will be exploring the bottom-most depths of the psyche where the sun don't shine.   If you chose to follow us keep constant watch for the deadly, red-eyed gurufish.  They don't bite.  But they will seriously f with your mind.

Anyway, as night falls today be sure to take the kiddies outside to peek into the heavens and you might catch a glimpse of me.  I'm not that bright but I do have shine.

Okay, the marketing portion of my presentation is now complete.

The material on the ego is quite voluminous.  So much so that I've decided to post it in installments.  One or two a day, perhaps.  I might take weekends off.   But this will give you the benefit of focusing on certain passages and allowing you time to reflect upon them individually.  It will also be more expedient and manageable for any replies you might have, Sunmaster.

I had a forward in mind but I never put it down on electronic paper and have since forgotten it.  I do, however, provide my personal comments prior to each passage.  Some of these passages may be lengthy but I had decided it best to provide the fuller context of any of Seth's specific mentions of the ego.  I don't think any order is necessary but I will follow their chronological order.  Later I may add other material that is not specifically about the ego but has relevance nonetheless.  I'll also italicise my comments rather than the material for ease of reading.
