Phuket ‘Seasteaders’ told to pack up and go home

The ‘seasteading’ couple, that have set up a ‘floating’ home some 15 nautical miles off Phuket’s coast, are now the subject of an official complaint by the Thai Third Naval Area Command (that oversee Phuket’s security).

Taxi bike driver wants death after allegedly killing pregnant stepdaughter

A 57-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, who allegedly fatally battered his seven-month-pregnant stepdaughter to death at her Bangkok home on April 11, said he was in remorse over his action and wanted the court to give him the death sentence.

(Reuters) - Facebook Inc said it restored services on Sunday after some users could not access its social networking site, photo-sharing network Instagram and messaging app WhatsApp.

DDPM: Most accidents during Songkran festival caused by drunk driving

BANGKOK, 15 April 2019 (NNT) - Assistant to Tourism and Sports Minister, Lieutenant Commander Worawit Techasuphakoon, disclosed that the Tourism Authority of Thailand estimated that there will be more than 540,000 visitors to Thailand, while the number of Thai tourists is expected to reach three million. They are expected to generate a cash flow of over 20 billion baht, 10 billion baht from Thai tourists and another 10 billion baht from foreign visitors.

Election Commission to complete issuing "orange cards" on time

BANGKOK, 15 April 2019 (NNT) - The Election Commission president has confirmed there has yet to be any issuance of “orange card” penalties to any candidates in 66 districts where complaints had been filed, stressing the committee is processing the cases and will issue any penalties before the official announcement of the general election results.

PHUKET: An Italian expat is now under investigation after injuries from a boat collision with a longtail boat off Koh Bon, off Phuket’s southeast coast, this morning (Apr 14) left a 74-year-old fishermen in serious condition.

Day Three: Songkran road deaths show a dramatic drop

There has been 1,665 traffic accidents, with 174 deaths and 1,728 people injured in the first three days of the Songkran ‘seven days of danger’ (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). This equates to a significant drop from the 2018 road toll and lower even than Thailand’s average daily road deaths throughout the year.
