A Quick Question

Recommended Posts

I have a retirement visa and I left the country for a few days. I got a re-enter permit as required. Without leaving the country I was supposed to do my 90 day reporting today, April 15. I re-entered the country on March 28. As I understand it, I don't have to do my 90 reporting again until 90 days after March 28. Is that correct, or am I messing up?

Thanks for your help in advance.

You do not have to do a report of staying longer than 90 consecutive days in the country if you do not stay that long.

Your next report is due on June 25th if you entered on March 28th.

Ubon Joe.  My next 90 day report is due  on 25th May, but I leave the country on April 18 and return on 2 May, thereby resetting the 90 days.  That much I understand.  But my next extension of stay is due on 3rd June.  Does that extension, if granted, reset the 90 days again, or is the 90 days still from the time I entered the country on 2nd May?

I think on writing this that I have answered my own question, in that my next 90 day report will be due 90 days after 2nd May?

No, they are independent, so 90 days from when you re-entered.

The reset you mention, I believe is only on the first time extension, rather than a renewal.

That is correct. Only the first extension application is considered as equal to a 90 day report.

Some immigration offices will do a new report when you apply but that would be proved by a new report slip being put into your passport.
