The man, who has not been named, is understood to be a member of a local boat crew. On Monday, the 21 year old British woman reported that she had been raped. The woman, who was travelling alone, told police said she had been out drinking with an Irish man and fell asleep outside a restaurant on Loh Dalum beach. After checking CCTV, investigating officers on Wednesday arrested a Thai man who works on the island. Pol.Gen Krishna Patanacharoen, deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police apologised for the incident and told officers resolve the case quickly.
