National Lottery refuse to pay £4,000,000 to players who ‘bought ticket with stolen debit card’

Yes, it would be but in bureaucratic Britain an unlikely outcome.

very interesting, would have to assume John already reported his card stolen but there might be a way round that

If the card owner had the money used from his account to buy the tickets replaced by the bank, the bank should get the willings as they paid for the theft. If the money has not been replaced the bank accounts owner "John" should get to keep the money as he paid for the tickets. These two bums should be charged with theft and fraud.

Why not just pay the £4,000,000 price into the bank account of the owner of the debit card, as he must be the real buyer of the ticket...????
