Inderpland
Will visit Kanchanaburi city soon. Any good fishing in the river or in lakes?
impulse
I see a lot of locals throwing lures at the snakeheads in the river, but I'm not sure they catch a lot. A few times on my stays on the river, there were zillions of decent sized fish going after berries falling from the trees, but I'm not sure whether it will be berry season. There are signs in K-Buri town advertising the usual fishing park(s), but I can't speak for the quality or quantity. On the main drag, about 100-200 meters from the main WWII cemetery, there's a fishing shop. You may ask there.
DavisH
Srinakarin dam has a number of fish. Went in April one year on a houseboat with my Thai relatives and their friends. They can carry a lot of people. There is a boat driver too to take you where to want to go. The dam has a lot of fish but you have to go to the right spots. We didn't catch a lot, but on other times I head of many fish being caught. Some tour companies also operate there. I think you can google all of this info.
