Hi, I have a one year multiple entry visa based on Marriage (O) applied at the embassy in Singapore. On entry in Bangkok I got a three months stamp.

Q: do I still need to go to the immigration office in BKK to change it into a Marriage visa.

Q: do I need to leave Thailand and re enter after 90 days or can I report to the immigration office.

Q: next year when current visa expires can I reapply/extend for another year in Thailand or do I need to apply abroad.

Thanks

During the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from you non-o you could apply apply for a one year extension based upon marriage at immigration. You will 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income,

You have to leave and re-enter the country every 90 days to get a new entry. The 90 day reporting is only for those that can stay longer than 90 days.

You can apply for a one year extension during the last 30 days of any of the 90 day entries from your non-o visa. If not then you would have apply for a new non-o visa at a embassy or consulate.

Thanks, I have a one year multiple entry marriage visa (non O) applied at the Thai embassy in SG. I submitted my bankdetails, marriage certs etc at that time. Now whats not clear is do I still need to go to the immigration office in BKK as you describe with all docs again (these are the same as I submitted in SG) to re apply or do I ony need to report my address.

Ok found my answer on the MFA page.  At the end of the 90-day stay , the foreigner must report to the immigration officer in his or her residence area and report again every 90 days during his or her stay in Thailand.  The foreigner may report to the police station if there is no immigration office in his or her residence area.

Your visa only allows a 90 day stay in the country. Look at the admitted until date on the entry stamp done by immigration.

If you want to stay continuously in the country you will need to apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration.

Not sure what you found on the MFA website. It appears to be info for a OA long stay visa that allows a one year entry.

Your visa only allows you to stay in the country for 90 days when you enter the country using it.

Edit: From number 8 here on the MFA website. http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15405-General-information.html

"For example, the period of stay for a transit visa is not exceeding 30 days, for a tourist visa is not exceeding 60 days and for a non-immigrant visa is not exceeding 90 days from the arrival date.  The period of stay granted by the immigration officer is displayed on the arrival stamp."

You seem to be confusing your entry visa with your permission to stay (permit).

You have choices at the end of 90 days. Leave the country and re-enter for a new 90 day permit to stay, OR apply for a 60 day extension (permit) of stay, OR apply for a 1 year extension (permit) of stay (commonly known as a “marriage visa”)

Leave or extend as in Q1. There is no report option.

You can extend your permission to stay by 1 year, at your local immigration office every year, without leaving the country.

If you want a new ME Non ‘O’ visa you would need to apply abroad.

Until/unless you apply for a 1 year extension of stay you don’t need to make any 90 day reports.

The only report that should be made is by the owner, house-master, or possessor of the property your staying at. They should submit form TM.30 to report your arrival/stay. It will almost certainly be required before they would issue an extension of stay.

The only time you’ll need to show financials again is when/if you apply for a 1 year extension of stay.

What I don't understand is why I had to submit my marriage certs when I applied for a Marriage certificate in SG and they gave me non immigration O visa which still need to be converted to a marriage visa following the same procedure in Bangkok again.

so if you have an 90 day o-a visa, after 60 days one can apply for a marriage visa at your local immigration as long as you have 40,000 baht income? Will your one year marriage visa start from the day you applied for your marriage visa or when you started your o-a visa?

The office at Chaeng Wattana is the only location you can apply for the extension if you have a address in Bangkok.

I assume you mean a non-o visa that allows a 90 day entry. A OA visa allows a one year entry.

You can apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage to a Thai if you can prove at least 40k baht income.

The extension would start from the end of the 90 day entry.
