A father went on Facebook to relate what happened to his son who is a Grab car driver in Bangkok.

His son had received a call to take a customer from Klong Prapa to Muang Thong Thani.

But on the way in a secluded area the passenger produced a knife and attacked the driver with a knife after getting him in a head lock.

His son fought back and the fight continued into the back seat of the car. Pictures showed a lot of spilled blood in the vehicle.

His son was exhausted but succeeded in calming the situation and asked the attacker what he wanted.

He said he needed 200,000 baht to pay off debts.

The driver convinced him that he would transfer the money to him and the attacker drove him to hospital where he pretended to be a relative of the driver and waited.

Meanwhile the hospital staff contacted the driver's father to get him to sign papers related to giving surgery.  When he arrived at the hospital a series of whispers made between him and other relatives indicated that who they thought was a kind friend was really the attacker himself.

The father secretly called 191 and got them to meet them at another hospital where his son was transferred to so he could use his 30 baht card.

The attacker was unaware of these goings on and actually went in the ambulance with the victim to the second hospital.

Once there the police refused to act because no report had been made and there was a dispute about jurisdictions.

The family beat up the attacker instead then managed to get the correct police to act and take him into custody in Pak Kret.

The father explained that the attacker was clearly mentally unstable and was thus easy to con.

Sanook did not report on charges faced by the attacker as yet.

Its the same everywhere in Thailand. I'm paid only to do the job I'm assigned to, why should I bother with someone else's job? That is why you can see 3 person are needed for 1 person's job and most of the time they are just busy with smartphones instead of helping out colleagues who are occupied with their work.

SEE them everywhere, especially bars, the usual 4 behind a bar,, 3 doing sfa, playing on their phones and one doing the work, stupid rule about employing 4 thais, 1 person in the UK would be doing that job,
