Actually my original one i got from the Thai consulate in Birmingham when we came here was an o ,

Mine is a Thai 2005 'O' visa and with my non 'O'  I have had 1 year retirement extension on it and marriage extensions showing what's required.

Things have changed since I have had my type 'O' visa.

Only Non-Immigrant B and O holders are allowed to have a work permit. Once the work permit is in hand, the visa can be extended to match the duration of the employment contract.

Non-Immigrant Visa “O-A” (Long Stay) This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 1 year without the intention of working.

Folks thinking it will be any less are being hopeful at best

Until I hear an announcement I will remain hopeful.
